Terms of Service

Plain English: ClarityBefore estimates are for information only, not legal advice. Results are estimates based on state guidelines. Divorce law varies by location and everyone's situation is unique. Always talk to a real attorney before making decisions. We're not responsible if the numbers change or don't match your actual case. Use this tool to get informed, not to replace professional legal guidance.

What This Service Is and Isn't

ClarityBefore provides estimates for informational purposes only. The Clarity Reports generated by our tool are not legal advice, not financial advice, and not a substitute for professional consultation. We run your inputs through state guideline formulas to show you numbers you might encounter in a divorce scenario—nothing more.

Divorce law varies significantly by state, by county, and by individual circumstance. Your actual results will depend on factors only an attorney can evaluate: how the court interprets guidelines, whether deviations from guidelines are warranted, the specific assets and debts in your situation, and the judge assigned to your case.

How to Use This Tool Appropriately

Use ClarityBefore to get informed before you talk to a lawyer. The numbers should spark conversations with a real attorney, not replace them. Share your Clarity Report with your divorce attorney or financial advisor. Ask them to explain where your specific case might differ. Do not file court documents based only on these estimates. Do not make final settlement decisions based only on these estimates.

Accuracy of Estimates

We provide no warranty that the estimates are accurate for your situation. The formulas change. States update their guidelines. County regulations vary. The calculator may contain errors. Your income situation, assets, custody arrangement, or other details might not fit perfectly into the formula. Results are approximate and for planning purposes only. Real numbers come from attorneys, mediators, and courts—not from online tools.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClarityBefore and its creators are not responsible for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from your use of this tool. This includes but is not limited to:

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which ClarityBefore operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that state.

User Conduct

You agree that you will not use this tool to harass, deceive, or mislead anyone. You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or gain unauthorized access to any part of our system. You will not use automated tools or bots to generate large numbers of estimates. You will not use this tool for any purpose that violates laws in your jurisdiction.

About Your Data

Your answers are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers unless you choose to join the waitlist. See our Privacy Policy for complete details about what we collect and how we protect it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll note the date at the top and update the website. Your continued use of the tool after changes means you accept the new terms.
